1988 | Papiers marouflés
New exploration of matter: the shift from using printed papers of all origins to the photocopier allows for variations in degrees of density, erasures, and introduces transformation and distortion of the written word.
From the initial written material, the artist isolates the letter, transforming it until it undergoes metamorphosis. The letter, perpetually transformed and deconstructed, resists and reveals itself to be indestructible.
"I thus associate that which will be forever unknown with that which will remain indelible." — M.W.
